Client: JLG Industries
Project: 2014 ConExpo
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Designer: Dimensional Communications Inc.
Floor Space: 20,000 sq. ft.
Challenge: For this year’s show a 20,000 square foot outdoor space needed to be built-out not only to showcase the newest machinery and promote the brand, but also to provide space where key customers and prospects could relax, learn about the equipment and technologies, and have opportunities for private meetings.
DCI Solution: DCI designed and constructed an 8,400+ square foot two-story temporary structure sheathed in glass and JLG branding. Using a modular aluminum building system, in a span of a little more than a week, DCI erected an architectural edifice that provided maximum visibility from the outside while providing multi-function space on the inside.
Upon entering the structure, visitors stepped into a 2-story atrium welcoming them to the world of JLG. The ground floor of the structure was dedicated to educating attendees with a large information desk staffed by JLG employees as well as one of the industry’s first 84-inch 4K multi-touch screens that allowed visitors to learn about its products. Multi-touch displays that allowed attendees to request information and have it emailed to them in real-time were located throughout, as well as two large interactive screens displaying the newest JLG iPad and iPhone apps in native IOS.
The second story VIP area featured a full service bar, a business center, six private meeting areas, two cell phone charging stations, and an outdoor balcony where visitors could relax and enjoy a birds-eye view of the show, and the stars of the show – JLG’s state-of-the-art aerial work platforms and access machinery.
The results were impressive with orders written at the show 3-4 times JLG’s expectations. We are proud to have played a part in our client’s success.
