DCI’s and Schneider Electric SA’s Personal Digital Experiences: a collaboration that helped to generate sizable ROI and a prestigious industry award.

In June 2013, Schneider Electric SA hired DCI to create Personal Digital Experience (PDE) kiosks for their live “Xperience Efficiency” learning events in Dallas and Washington, DC.  The goal of these events was to educate attendees about Schneider’s vast product/services portfolio and the challenges facing energy markets.

Our interactive kiosks not only contributed to help Schneider win Exhibitor Magazine’s 2013 Corporate Event Award earlier this month, they also generated impressive awareness-building results for the company, including:

• 120 MM media impressions
• 50 press mentions
• 1,200 tweets

The PDE kiosks were part of 10,000 square-foot marketplaces that were divided into 16 sections, with each section based on one of Schneider Electric SA’s products and services.  Attendees explored section-specific kiosks and were able to accumulate points for a chance to win prizes (iPads, Sonos speakers, Amazon gift cards, an all-expense paid trip to the Paris Marathon) using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) badges that they scanned at each kiosk.

Along with the educational, entertainment, and competitive aspects of Schneider Electric SA’s PDE kiosks (which were driven by our proprietary, multi-touch software), they were also able to offer diverse attendee engagement and valuable lead capture data for the company.  At our Washington, DC exhibit, for example, this data included:

• 283 literature requests (real-time delivery)
• 306 unique surveys taken
• 1,673 swipes/log-ins

The end result?  Our PDE kiosks helped to create 300 new business opportunities for Schneider Electric SA, totaling more than $225MM.

Attendees learned that this kind of inventive engagement can be fun, informative, and rewarding.  And Schneider Electric SA saw that it can be great for business.
